Cassidy Mileti was recognized by the Society for Applied Spectroscopy for her study of carbonate-substituted apatites and native bone tissue by FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy, as well as x-ray diffraction, developing FT-IR acid phosphate intensity ratio to further our basic understanding of the interactions between anionic substitutions in synthetic apatites and native bone tissue.
